Capital stays off on Eid-days

ISLAMABAD: The city roads which usually bustled with traffic on normal days still wore a deserted look on Friday, the third day of Eid-ul-Fitr, as majority of the residents and public transport owners kept their vehicles off road.

Moreover, the people who left the Capital for different parts of the country for celebrating Eid ul Fitr at their native towns are yet to return.

This is for the reason the majority of Capital's population belongs to other parts of the country, which usually returns after enjoying the
festival in midst of their near and dear ones.

"The common phenomenon continues this year as well with majority of residents of the Capital left for their hometowns, and they would take time to return," Mazhar Alam, an old inhabitant of sector I-8 opined.

Azmat Elahi, an owner of general store in Sector G-6, said that it would take few more days when the city would have resumed its full business activities in next week with re-opening of the shopping centers and return of the populace.

Those residents who remained in the Capital city preferred to visit their kin or a number of recreational spots along with their families. (APP)
