PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Ameer Haider Khan Hoti reached village Saglo, Union Council Gabrial, Tehsil Kandia, District Kohistan on Monday where he met affectees of last month flooding in the area.
He distributed compensation cheques among heirs of flood victims and approved bridge and separate primary schools for boys and girls in the area.
The chief minister directed for completion of people welfare schemes through project committees of local elders keeping in view inaccessibility and weather situation of the area and assured that the government will provide funds for it.
Provincial Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Commissioner and DIG Hazara and officials of District Administration were also present on the occasion.
He directed Provincial Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah for taking steps in connection with establishment of community Health Center in the area.
People of the area were pleased by finding the chief minister among them and thanked him for financial assistance and expressing sympathies.
The chief minister said that the provincial government and the people are equally held in their grief. Fateha was offered for flood victims on the occasion. The chief minister expressed solidarity with the affectees.
Earlier, the chief minister was apprised of flood that wreaked havoc in the area on night of 24th August and claimed precious lives and devastated infrastructure.
The elders thanked the chief minister for provision of assistance materials and shift of affectees to safer places. The chief minister was also informed of details regarding provision of tents, blankets, medicines and food bags to affectees in the relief operation lasting for four days.
A three month old child was also shown to the chief minister who remained under the debris for the whole night after flooding and was rescued safely.
The chief minister also met a five-year-old child who stuck in trees after flooding and was alive. The chief minister expressed affection upon them and thanked God Almighty for the miracles.
