RAWALPINDI: Vice-Principal of Rifah University Brig (retd) Sanaullah was gunned down by a disgruntled student in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to the preliminary reports, the incident took place in the university situated on Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi, when a student identified as Khuram went straight into the office of Brig (retd)
Sanaullah and fired shots at the Vice Principal and three others; however the later luckily remained unhurt.
Rescue 1122 team reached the site and was taking the wounded vice principal to the hospital, but he succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.
The perpetrator tried to flee from the crime scene; however the university students overpowered the killer and arrested him soon after the unfortunate incident, who was later handed over to Police.
Army personnel seized the crime scene and investigation team started collecting evidence.
The dead body of the deceased vice principal has been sent to the Combine Military Hospital, Rawalpindi for post-mortem.
The perpetrator was arrested and shifted to a police station in Rawalpindi. He was enrolled in the MBBS programme of the RIU backed in 2002 and was facing difficulties in obtaining his degree. He said that he was failed repeatedly in the exams so he killed the vice principal.
According to some students, the perpetrator had been committed some abnormal things in the past. (PPI)
