ISLAMABAD: Deputy Secretary General of the PML-N, Ahsan Iqbal Thursday said President Asif Ali Zardari’s latest assault on PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif is unjustified and baseless, Geo News reported.
He said that the President, who had been abroad most of the time, was not aware of the facts.
In a statement issued by the party secretariat, Ahsan Iqbal said it was Zardari’s advisors responsibility to keep him and his statements updated.
Iqbal further said that Zardari should not forget that during the last floods it was Nawaz who advised him to form a flood commission.
According to Iqbal, the PML-N and Punjab government were the first to start relief activities in flood-affected areas of Sindh.
