PESHAWAR: The Custom Intelligence on Friday foiled a bid to smuggle drugs to the down country and seized hashish worth millions of rupees at Rashakai Interchange on motorway, Custom sources said.
Custom Intelligence on a tip-off about smuggling bid received by Director General Custom Intelligence Riaz Khan, formed a raiding team led by Deputy Director Arshad Khan and established various check posts on exit and entry points on Motorway interchanges.
During checking of vehicles near Rashakai Interchange on Motorway, Custom police intercepted a suspected truck bearing registration number 8045 and recovered 25 maunds hashish of fine quality from its secret cavities.
Moreover, Custom authorities arrested two alleged smugglers Irfan Ali and Zardaab Gul on the spot and registered the case under Drug Act besides initiating further investigation.
