Public should continue to excise caution even after the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted, says Nasir Hussain Shah
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has warned schools and wedding hall owners against reopening before September 15, saying that masses should continue to excise caution even after the COVID-19 lockdown in the country is lifted.
Shah said that though the lockdown restrictions have been eased, people should continue to act upon the SOPs recommended for different sectors as a precaution against the coronavirus.
The provincial minister added that the restrictions were still intact when it came to expo centres, convention centres and conference halls as it was not possible still to allow such public events and large gatherings to take place.
Speaking about the removal of billboards around the metropolis by the Supreme Court, Shah said the Sindh government would fully honour the top court’s decisions and directions in this regard.
“The Sindh government has started to act upon its decision to remove encroachments on stormwater drains in the city,” Shah said, adding that encroachments would be removed from all the drains of the city phase-wise.
He added that rain emergency imposed by the Sindh government in the province would remain valid till the current monsoon season lasted.
