LAHORE: One more person died from dengue virus in Lahore on late Saturday night, taking the death toll to 36 in the city, Geo News reported.

Thirty-five-year old Khalida Bibi, resident of Darogawala, was admitted to Shalimar hospital. Despite medical treatment she did not recover and was shifted to Services Hospital where she died late Saturday night.

With one more death, the toll has climbed to 36 in the city.

Separately, the Punjab government imposed Section 144 in Lahore, on the recommendation of Sri Lankan health experts, to stave off the spread of dengue.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has fixed the blood test fee at Rs90 in private laboratories to deal with the growing number of dengue patients in the province. These laboratories have been warned of strict action if they charge more fees.
