RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League -N MNA Shakeel Awan said on Sunday that directions had been passed on to the medical superintendents of allied hospitals to cancel leaves of medical staff including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff and assign them duties to deal with dengue fever.

The doctors have been directed to remain alert round the clock and attend the patients who are showing symptoms of dengue fever. Talking to a group of journalists, Shakeel said that Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and District Headquarter Hospital were on red alert to face the challenges.

However, on the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, they have taken effective measures to meet any such emergency situation in Rawalpindi, he added. He said that Punjab Government was making all out effort to fight the dengue virus and free of cost treatment is given in these hospitals. Special isolation wards have been set up to control the situation.

Shakeel Awan said that they were ready to cope any emergency due tothe outbreak of dengue fever.
