ISLAMABAD: World Food Programme (WFP) has provided almost 600 metric tons of monthly family food ration to 48,000 beneficiaries so far in Badin, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah districts which are affected by rain and flood.
WFP spokesperson Amjad Jamal, told this news agency on Sunday that a total of six NGO partners have been contracted so far, with preparations underway to scale-up distributions across other locations in the coming days.
He said infrastructural damage and security constraints have delayed humanitarian deliveries to some locations in recent days; with the road between Umerkot and Mithi reportedly destroyed along an estimated 2 km stretch. (APP)
