US team visits Cotton Research Institute

MULTAN: United States Department of Agriculture team headed by Dr Brian Scheffler visited the Cotton Research Institute Multan.

Director Cotton (Punjab) Dr Abid Mehmood said that cotton research institute was conducting research on cotton leaf curl virus and the Punjab government was making earnest studies for resolving the issue.

The Cotton Research Institute has developed certain virus resistant varieties including MNH 886, FH-114/VH 259, he said.

He said these varieties would be registered with Seed Certification Department, which were producing good results. (APP)
