FAISALABAD: National Institute of Food Science & Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will organize an International Conference on "Emerging Issues in Food Safety" here from November 14-16.

According to a spokesman of the UAF, the main objective of this 3-day
conference is to create awareness in various stakeholders about current advancements in the field of food safety.

He said that food experts and scholars are asked to send their abstracts at eifs2011yahoo.com or eifs2011hotmail.com till September 30 if they want to submit their paper in the conference.

The selection of abstracts would be held on October 05 while full papers could be submitted by October 15.

He said that registration of intending participants has also been
started which would remain continue online till October 31.

He said that Faisalabad is very well connected with other cities in the
country by air, rail and road. Flights operate daily between Faisalabad and Karachi. Alternately, one may take international flight for Lahore or Islamabad that are at 2:30 and 4:30 hours drive respectively while many trains shuttle between Faisalabad and Lahore. Hence, the participants will have to make their own travel arrangements, he added.

He said that foreign participants should also make their own arrangements for obtaining Pakistani Visa by contacting Pakistani Embassy/Consulate in their home countries. However, if needed, the organizers of the conference will send official letter confirming their participation at the conference.
