Haqqani issue: President, PM chair high level meeting

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani are chairing a high level meeting to discuss US accusations and the upcoming All Parties Conference (APC), Geo News reported.

Defence Minister Chuadhry Ahmad Mukhtar, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir and Salman Farooqui are attending the meeting.

According to sources, Pakistan’s response and policy in regards to recent US accusations are being discussed in this meeting. The US has accused Pakistan and its armed forces of supporting the Haqqani network. US officials have also advocated that aid to the Pakistan be tied with action against the Haqqani network.
