FAISALABAD: The 71st biannual free eye camp will start in Dar-ul-Hikmat Dar-ul-Shafa Hospital at Dar-ul-Ehsan Sammundri Road near here from Saturday, October 1.
According to spokesman of Dar-ul-Hikmat, the month long comp will remain continue up to October 31, in which more than 11,000 eye surgeries would be conducted.
A medical team comprising 80 eye specialists and 500 paramedics will provide services during the camp, he added.
It is pertinent to mention that this free eye camp was started in 1976 under the supervision of spiritual leader Abu Anees Sufi Muhammad Barkat Ali Ludhianvi which is being held regularly twice in a year in the month of March and October.
After the death of Sufi Barkat Ali, this camp is being organized under the supervision of Mian Muhammad Shafi Administrator and Mian Najeeb Ullah vice Administrator of Dar-ul-Ehsan respectively.
Meal, medicines, accommodations, other medical facilities and lens are also provided to the poor and deserving patients without any cost.
