LAHORE: Special Drug Squad, headed by DIG Maj. Mubashar Ullah, has recovered stolen government medicines worth Rs3.5 million from various private hospitals and medical stores and arrested twelve persons including a ward boy of Services Hospital during the last three days.

According to detail, government medicines worth Rs2 million were seized from a house at Ittefaq Pura in Badami Bagh area from where Syed Abbas Ali Shah and Syed Ilyas Ali Shah were arrested.

Similarly, government medicines worth Rs1 million were recovered from the godowns of Messers SB Enterprises in Lohari Gate and Muhammad Shahid, Sherbaz Khan, Mirza Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Usman were apprehended.

In the same way government medicines of Rs200,000 were seized from Messers Iqbal Medical Store in front of main gate of Jinnah Hospital and one Ehsaan Ullah Khan was arrested.

The same squad while conducting operation against pharmacies of private hospitals recovered government medicines of Rs103,000 from the pharmacy of Shama Hospital, Bagh Munshi Ladha and started investigation. Abid Hussain, Syed Aslam Ali Shah and Ghulam Rasool were arrested while medicines stolen from government hospitals worth Rs92,000 were recovered and seized from Jamil Hospital, Allama
Iqbal Road Garhishahu and Mirza Muhammad Imran was arrested.

Stolen medicines of Rs25,000 were recovered from Ghulam Qadir of Messers Jamil Surgical Hospital Bhatti Gate.
