Ten militants killed in Upper Orakzai

PESHAWAR: Ten militants were killed when gunship helicopters hit five hideouts in Dabori and Mamuzai areas of Upper Orakzai Agency on Thursday, Geo News reported. One security person was martyred while three others sustained injuries in Lower Dir.

The sources said the security forces targeted militant sanctuaries some in the Upper Orakzai and killed ten militants and destroyed five compounds.

The security forces have cleared Arhang area from the militants' hold.

On the other hand, clashes in Lower Dir entered seventh day where forces are conducting operation against extremists.

Fifty militants were killed in Bin Shahi and Kharki areas bordering Afghanistan in Lower Dir. One security person embraced martyrdom and three sustained injuries in the ongoing battle.
