APC: ‘US using Haqqani issue to destabilize Pak’

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman said Friday that the United States was using the Haqqani network to destabilize Pakistan, Geo News reported.

While speaking to reporters Rehman said the US might go to the UN against Pakistan and it was also likely that the Americans would raise the issue of the Quetta Shura. He said the Haqqani network was a creation of the US and that Jalaluddin Haqqani was part of the Taliban.

Rehman added that it was in the interest of Pakistan to keep good relations with Afghan groups.
