Teachers stage protest demo

ISLAMABAD: Teachers from various colleges working under the set up of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Friday protested at Federal Government College for Women G-10/4 seeking raising of their grade.

The protest was led by the office bearers of Federal Government Colleges Teachers Association (FGCTA). Teachers working in BPS-17 and above participated in the protest.

Wearing black strips on their arms, the teachers boycotted the classes and raised slogans, demanding upgradation of their scales on the basis of Time Scale Promotion Formula (TSPF).

The management of the college tried to restrain the teachers from boycotting the classes and staging a protest. The teachers, however, said they would continue to protest until they receive notification for upgradation.

The teachers raised slogans against the department which has the authority to implement the decision for their upgradation. (APP)
