ISLAMABAD: Police, in two separate actions, recovered a large cache of weapons from vehicles at entry points of the federal capital, Geo News reported.

The weapons were being transported in vehicles and four individuals were also arrested. Police claimed the weapons were being taken to Islamabad, Jhelum and Gujrat to be used in terrorist activity.

In the first incident, police stopped a suspicious car on Kashmir highway and took the passengers along with the car into custody. On combing the car at the police station, the weapons were found hidden in different compartments.

In another action, a team of CIA recovered weapons including Kalashnikovs and pistols from a car that was stopped in suspicion in Tarnol area. Two individuals were also arrested.
