KARACHI: City District Government Karachi has removed 11,093 tonnes of garbage during the last four days of its third phase of cleaning drive in six towns of the city.
The drive has been launched on the directives of Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan while Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed is monitoring it on daily basis.
The third phase is continuing in six towns including Landhi, Shah Faisal, Gadap, Bin Qasim, Malir and Korangi where 8282 employees have been deployed while 611 vehicles have also been engaged to shift the garbage to land fill sites.
In this regard, Muhammad Hussain Syed and DCO Karachi Roshan Ali Sheikh visited these areas to review the cleaning activities.
Streets, nullas and side lanes have been included in the cleanliness campaign. The anti-insecticides spray has also been carried out to eliminate breeding of mosquitoes, especially dengue virus.
The citizens are advised to come forward and cooperate with the city governemnt to make the cleanliness drive a success throughout Karachi. (APP)
