Drug pusher dies in police custody

KHANEWAL: An alleged drug pusher died in police custody here on Friday.

According to police, Shah Nawaz resident of colony No 3, was arrested by city police and he was lodged in lock-up. The accused suffered heart attack and he was shifted to DHQ hospital Khanewal in precarious condition from where doctors referred him to Nishter Hospital Multan.

Shah Nawaz was being shifted to the hospital when he died.

When contacted, the administration of the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital Khanewal, said that the accused had no torture marks on his body.

However, a medical board has been constituted to probe into the matter.
