RAWALPINDI: Under grand anti-encroachment operation of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO), four trucks loaded with goods were confiscated here on Friday while as many as 15 shopkeepers were also fined.

Tehsil Municipal Officer Mian Muhammad Akram talking to APP said that raids are being conducted in city markets to remove all kinds of encroachments.

He said four trucks loaded with goods were confiscated and deposited in the TMA store while 15 shopkeepers were imposed fines amounting to Rs15000.

He said, the grand clean-up operation against encroachments launched on the special instructions of Administrator Rawal Town/Assistant Commissioner Saif Anwar Jappa which is underway in the city.

Special teams under the supervision of Town Officer Regulation Aftab Ahmed Chohan are regularly conducting raids at Raja Bazaar, Liaquat Road, Benazir Bhutto Road, Gunjmandi, Jamia Masjid Road, Commercial Market, Sadiqabad and other areas of the city.

The vendors who were found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different city roads are imposed fines with warnings. (APP)
