HYDERABAD:: Health Executive Director (EDO), Bux Ali Pattafi has urged the people to fully participate in Polio Eradication Campaign and get their children, under five years, vaccinated against polio.
A comprehensive plan has been prepared to make the Polio Eradication Campaign in all four talukas of Hyderabad district success, by carrying out extensive vaccination against polio from Oct 24-26. Addressing a press conference at Press Club Hyderabad here on Thursday the EDO Health said that strict monitoring is required to ensure that no child, from the targeted group, is left out.
He said that the polio is a disease, which can destroy the bright future of the children, and therefore it was the responsibility of the parents to get their children vaccinated against the disease.
Dr Ali Bux Pitafi informed that a total of 265,162 children of under five years age will be vaccinated in Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and rural talukas of Hyderabad districts.
He informed that total of 680 mobile teams have been constituted coupled with 85 fixed teams and 34 transit points across Hyderabad district to vaccinate the children.
He said that the Health Department, representatives of WHO and UNICEF also accompanied the polio campaign.
Bux Ali Patafi called upon the parents to extend their full cooperation to the vaccinators and administer anti polio drops to their children.
