French President Emmanuel Macron tests positive for coronavirus

Presidential Elysee Palace issues brief statement saying Macron will isolate for seven days, continue working at a distance

French President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for COVID-19, the presidential Elysee Palace announced Thursday.

Macron took a test “as soon as the first symptoms appeared,” a brief statement read.

The French president will isolate himself for seven days.

“He will continue to work and take care of his activities at a distance,” it added.
