LAHORE: Two including a woman lost their battle against Dengue at Services Hospital on Friday morning, raising the death toll to 253 in the city while 291 in Punjab, Geo News reported.
Today 72-year-old Nisar and 15-year-old Uzma lost their lives after suffering from Dengue.
In the past 24 hours, 201 new cases of Dengue were confirmed raising the number of patients to 19,506 in the province. In Lahore, 161 cases were confirmed increasing the number of affected persons to 16,492.
Health Department told that currently 909 patients are getting treatment for the virus while 19,216 have been recovered.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said that the government is taking all the possible steps to provide best treatment to the patients and to curb the virus.
The CM Punjab said that doctors and nurses have been trained in government hospitals while an improvised training to the family physicians would also be ensured.
He said that during Eid-ul-Azha holidays, dengue fumigation would continue.
