QUETTA: Balochistan Education Department would establish two new boards of intermediate and secondary education (BISE) at Zhob and Turbat districts during the current financial year.
Balochistan Education department sources told a local news agency here Sunday that Rs. 100 million have been allocated for the project in the current provincial budget in order to facilitate the students of these two and the surrounding districts.
"With increasing number of students appearing in matriculation and intermediate classes examination are the burden on BISE Quetta," they said, adding the students from the far-flung areas of the province had to cover huge distance and traveling cost to visit the provincial capital for submission of their examination forms.
However, the establishment of new examination boards which is a longstanding demand would facilitate them considerably in pursuit of higher education.
Referring to the provincial government's others initiatives aimed at promoting education sector, they said 100 new primary schools would be made functional besides upgrading 50 primary schools to middle level during the current financial year.
In addition, a cadet college would be established at Panjgor district and education enclave at Mastung, the home district of chief minister Balochistan Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani.
An integrated policy has also been devised for capacity building of teachers on modern lines and empowering the community and private sector schools through Balochistan Education Foundation.
