ECP restores status of 42 lawmakers after asset declaration

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday restored the membership of 42 parliamentarians, including federal ministers Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Manzoor Wattoo, after they submitted details of their assets, Geo News reported.

Membership of 170 members of parliament still stands suspended due to non-declaration of assets.

It may be mentioned here that the ECP had suspended membership of 231 lawmakers as a result of failing to submit details of their assets.
