Teaching may be suspended in colleges where coronavirus cases are increasing, says education ministry

A surge in coronavirus cases has been reported in government colleges across Karachi.

According to documents seen by Geo News, 58 staff members of Sir Syed Government Girls College tested positive for coronavirus.

Furthermore, coronavirus tests of 21 staff members of Shaheed Millat Girls College, too, came back positive. The results of an additional 22 staff members are awaited.

Additionally, a teacher from Aga Khan Government College also tested positive.

According to the education ministry, tests are yet to be conducted in most of the colleges in Karachi. Such institutes have been told that they may suspend teaching until all tests are complete.
