KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) representatives held a detailed discussion on "Sindh Local Government System 2011" here on Friday but failed to make any progress regarding a new ordinance for that.
This was the third round of the meetings between them, said a statement. The leaders of both the political entities discussed various aspects of the System.
It was agreed that the PPP would also consult with other coalition partners in this regard.
The meeting was attended among others by Senior Minister Education Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Sindh Minister for Local Government, Sindh Local Government Minister, Agha Siraj Durrani, Sindh Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro, Sindh Minister for Archives and Special Development Rafique Engineer.
The members of MQM including Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed, former zila nazim, Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel and Member MQM Rabita Committee Wasey Jaleel and MNA Wasim Akhtar.
