ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police, in connection with the occasion of Eid ul Azha, have established `Police Help Service’ centres at the main markets and other areas of the Capital to provide immediate assistance to the citizens.
SSP Islamabad, Muhammad Yousuf Malik have directed all SDPOs and SHOs to ensure effective security arrangements on the occasion of Eid in their respective areas when people will throng in the markets for shopping and also in residential sectors when citizens will leave to
their native towns to celebrate Eid.
Implementing the effective measures, `Police Help Service' Centers have been established at Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, G-9 (Karachi Company) and F-10 Markaz where police officers will remain present to assist citizens in case of any problem to them. These Centers will also ensure checking of police patrolling teams in the
particular area.
Instead of going to police station, people can lodge their complaints in these centers, which will work from 5:30 pm to 12:30 am. The SSP said that purpose of this step is to promote the concept of community
policing and ensure steps for immediate redressal of public complaints.
Meanwhile, the SSP also directed to activate Community Police Centers established in the jurisdiction of almost all police stations. He said that these centers are very helpful to maintain close liason with the citizens and their performance should be improved with more focus on community policing. (APP)
