FAISALABAD: A high level meeting of regional officers was held here on Friday to review security arrangement for Eid-ul-Azha.

Divisional Commissioner Syed Tahir Husain chaired the meeting in which Regional Police Officer (RPO) Aftab Cheema and the officers of departments concerned were also present.

The commissioner and RPO directed DCOs and DPOs of Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot to ensure holding of meetings with District Intelligence Coordination Committee, peace committees and public participation committees at Thana level to ensure peace and sectarian harmony on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.

It was also directed to officers concerned to make foolproof security arrangements at Eid Gahs, mosques and other places where Eid congregations and prayers would be held.

They were directed to ensure effective setup of police pickets and deployment of police force at rooftops near important mosques and sensitive places.

The commissioner also directed for the availability of Bomb Disposal
Squad, walk through gates, metal detectors and emergency services at
sensitive places. (APP)
