KARACHI: Following the restoration of Commissnerate System in Sindh, commissioners, deputy commissioners and other administrative officers took charge of their offices later today, Geo News reported.
Earlier, the Sindh Government seized the accounts of the defunct city district government.
Karachi Commissioner Roshan Ali in his statement today claimed that the Commissionerate System had been revived on permanent basis in the province.
The local bodies system remained suspended on paper for about five days in Sindh since the night of November 4 as a result of expiry of the Local Government Ordinance. This put the administrative officers in an uncertain position as orders for an alternative local bodies system were not passed during these days.
Chief Minister Sindh had also been away for performing Hajj and his absence caused the delay in putting in place a local bodies set up in the province.
