NEW DELHI: A court in the Indian capital has awarded a five-year jail term to former Indian Telecom Minister Sukhram, India media reported.

Sukhram was awarded five years imprisonment after being convicted of taking 300,000 Indian rupees as bribe to give a lucrative telecom contract to a private firm in 1996.
