FAISALABAD: An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) has awarded death sentence on two counts to a killer and life term to another two accused, including a lady police constable, involved in a murder case of Rail Bazaar Police Station.
According to police, Ahad Shah of Chak No.237-RB along with his father Sattar Shah, Adil Shah, lady constable of Elite Force Kausar
alias Pathani, widow of Ghulam Abbas and Shehbaz Ali had shot dead Aqib Shah in the office of SP Lyallpur Town over an old rivalry of murders sometime ago.
After observing evidences and witnesses, Ishtiaq Ahmad Judge ATC No.1 awarded capital punishment on two counts to Ahad Shah with a fine of Rs 200,000.
The court also awarded life imprisonment to lady constable Kausar alias Pathani and accused Shehbaz. The convicts were also directed to pay Rs 200,000 to each as compensation and fine.
Accused Shehbaz managed to flee from the courtroom after hearing conviction for him. The judge issued his arrest warrants and directed the City Police Officer (CPO) to produce Shehbaz in the court on November 28.
The remaining two accused Sattar Shah and Adil Shah were acquitted by giving them benefit of doubt. (APP)
