LAHORE: Backing cabinet decisions, exhibiting true patriotism and expressing complete disgust against the unprovoked NATO attacks against territorial sovereignty of Pakistan, Punjab University students, teachers and staff took out a large rally inside New Campus here on Wednesday.

The Azm-e-Aalishan Rally, led by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, and participated by thousands condemned the US and NATO aerial strikes on Pakistani check posts in Mohmand Agency.

Angry students, teachers and employees from various departments gathered at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) to protest against the NATO aggression and violation of international law and UN statutes.

The participants, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against barbaric NATO attack, tribute to martyred soldiers, expressing sympathy with the bereaved families and solidarity with the Pakistani armed forces.

The charged protestors endorsed cabinet decisions of suspension of NATO supplies, vacation of Shamsi Base and boycott of Bonn conference, adding that the decisions reflected national sentiments and a turning point in the foreign policy of the country.

Another rally is planned at College of Art and Design, Punjab University Old Campus on Thursday (tomorrow) which will be participated by students, teachers and employees.
