ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police recovered around 30 stolen vehicles from different cities of the country during last one month.

According to a spokesman of Islamabad police, these vehicles were kept in many police stations under 550 CrPc.

Around 18 vehicles have been shifted to Islamabad, while process to acquire the remaining is under process.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousaf had issued special instructions to SP Investigation Chaudhry Liaqat Ali Khan to recover the vehicles lifted from Islamabad and arrest the accused involved in these activities.

He directed to dispatch a team to various cities for the recovery of stolen vehicles from Islamabad.

Accordingly, the SP Investigation constituted a special team under the supervision of Incharge Anti-Car Lifting Cell Altaf Aziz Khattak comprising Inspector Muhammad Bashir, ASIs Muhammad Akbar, Shakeel Ahmed, Muhammad Asif and others.

The team visited police stations of different cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Cahkwal, Attock and Peshawar to check the vehicles confiscated and examine the whole record in computer.

Meanwhile, the ACLC arrested four people involved in the car theft cases including Rana Amir Gulzar s/o of Gulzar resident of Lahore, Waqas Zaheer s/o of Zaheer Ahmed, Lahore, Abdullah s/o of Ghulam Saddique, Rawalpindi and Muhammad Anwar from Mardan.

The police also recovered fake registration books and files of vehicles, jammer and weapons from their possession.

The arrested accused confessed to lift vehicles from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while further investigation was underway.(APP)
