LAHORE: The rescue 1122 staff leaves have been cancelled with immediate effect and directed to report for Muharram duty at their place of posting.
Director General, Punjab Emergency Services Dr Rizwan Naseer told here Friday that on the special directive of the Chief Minister Punjab, at least 10,000 highly trained rescue officials would perform duty during Muharram.
He said special mobile rescue posts have been set up at district level across the province besides deployment of mobile ambulance services.
He said that special rescue posts would cover the processions and Majalis while mobile ambulances would escort main processions and provide first aid.
He said entire staff would perform duty in three shifts round the clock.
He said that all district heads of rescue 1122 have also been directed to closely monitor the performance of rescue posts in their areas. (APP)
