KARACHI: During a raid on a seminary in the metropolis, police freed 50 students who were chained to one another, Geo News reported.

In the latest development, cases have been lodged against five individuals for chaining these students.

The students were chained in a seminary located in a mosque in the Soharb Goth area of the city.

The students have been shifted to a police station and during the raid two suspects were also apprehended.

According to the students they were tortured and were chained. Their parents left them at the seminary which charges a tuition fee of Rs 13,000.

The students were not allowed to meet their parents once at the seminary.

Following the raid the seminary and the mosque it was located in was sealed.
