Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and put Bangladesh into bat after dense fog delayed the start of the match for more than an hour.
The Bangladesh top-order batsmen failed to resist against pace bowlers Aizaz Cheema and Umar Gul who dismissed Nazimuddin and Mahmudullah for nought, Tamim Iqbal for 14 and Nasir Hossain for seven.
However, Shahriar Nafees is still fighting back and batting on 24 along with Shakib Al Hasan who is nine not out.
For Pakistan, Cheema bagged three wickets for 18 and Gul took one for 29.
Pakistan were unchanged while Bangladesh made two changes. Nazmul Hossain came in for batsman Mohammad Ashraful and Robiul Islam replaced the injured Rubel Hossain.
