HYDERABAD: Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palijo inaugurated a corner established at Sindh Museum here for the renowned writer, historian and educationist late Dr Jabbar Junejo on Sunday.

Speaking to media on the occasion, she praised the contributions of late Junejo, saying that he was a role model for other writers and historians.

"We feel pride on the accomplishments of Dr Jabbar Junejo," she remarked.

She said that soon the museum would open some other galleries for outstanding people including writers, scholars, historians and poets who contributed in different fields.

The writers and scholars gallery of Sindh Museum already had six corners before late Junejo's corner was added.

The six other personalities are whose corners are already there include late Zafar Kazmi, late Dr. N.A. Baloch, Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo, Muhammad Usman Deeplai, A.K.B. Shaikh and Ghulam Nabi Agro.

Since 2009 all of these corners were set up during the tenure of Mr Sassui Palijo.

The corner for late Dr Junejo consists of his books, awards, radio, clothes, prayer mat, memorable photographs, Sindhi cap, spectacles, wallet and some other belongings.

Chairman Sindhi Language Authority Fehmida Hussain said that late Dr Junejo wrote 50 books on literature, music, linguistics and history in Sindhi language and 12 in Urdu.

At least 10 other books of the writer await publication, she added.

On the occasion, writer Habibullah Siddiqui, Secretary Sindhi Language Authority Taj Joyo, Director Culture Department Ayub Jamali and daughters of late Dr Jabbar Junejo were also present on the occasion. (APP)
