Protest against slaughterhouse shifting

LAHORE: Over two dozen activists of Jamiat Al-Quresh Pakistan staged a protest demonstration against shifting of slaughterhouse to outside the city, from Bakkar Mandi here on Monday.

The protesters, carrying banners, playcards and chanted slogans against the Punjab government and demanded immediate reversal of its decision regarding shifting of slaughterhouse.

The protesters were of the view that shifting of slaughterhouse to Shahpur Kanjiran is unacceptable as it would not serve the purpose but add to their miseries due to extra transportation charges to bring meat into the city from a far area.
