LAHORE: MPA Hasan Murtaza from the PPP, protests outside the Punjab Assembly against non-payment to sugarcane farmers, Geo News reported.
What was extraordinary about this protest was that Murtaza protested barefoot.
According to Murtaza, management of a sugar mill in Shah Kot opened fire on farmers and as a result one was killed while three others were injured.
Murtaza said that he would continue his protests until the farmers were not given their dues.
Other MPA’s including opposition leader Raja Riaz also took part in the barefoot protest.
