US blogger Cynthia Ritchie found unconscious at Islamabad residence

ISLAMABAD: American blogger and journalist Cynthia D Ritchie was rushed to a hospital on Thursday after she was found unconscious at her flat.

Police said Ritchie was shifted to the Polyclinic hospital for treatment, with doctors saying that she was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. They said that Ritchie had said she was given an inxtocant.

Hospital sources informed Geo News that her stomach had been washed, adding that the stuff extracted from it had been sent to a laboratory for further tests.

Doctors said they were waiting for the medical report before commenting any further on the matter.

Ritchie had made headlines last year in June when she accused senior PPP leader and former interior minister, Rehman Malik, of raping her and had alleged that ex-prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani had "physically manhandled" her a couple of years ago.

Both Malik and Gillani had rubbished her allegations and said that it was a plot to malign the PPP.
