ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday submitted a resolution at National Assembly Secretariat for making Hazara a separate province and carving out two provinces out of south Punjab, Geo News reported.

The resolution was submitted by 25 members of MQM including deputy parliamentary leader Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi.

The resolution said that six districts including Mansehra, Abbotabad, Kohistan, Haripur, Batagram and Toor be merged into a province.

It further proposed that a referendum be held in south Punjab to find out if its people wanted to have one province or two.
