Pasban-e-Jafria stages sit-in at Governor House

KARACHI: A massive procession carrying the funeral of slain Shiite leader, Askari Raza, Sunday staged a sit-in outside Governor House, Geo News reported.

Unknown gunmen murdered Askari Raza on Saturday, he was the president of Pasban-e-Jafria.

The Shiite clerics, as well as other community members as a protest decided to offer Askari Raza’s funeral prayer at the Governor House.

Fiqah-e-Jafria leaders told Geo News it was the only way to shake the government out its oblivion, as the relentless murders of Shiite leaders seem to be falling on the deaf ears.

Enraged but calm protesters, who were chanting slogans, demanded of the government to take quick action against not only the killers of Askari but also a number of other slain members of the community.
