KARACHI: Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, has asked the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) to play an effective role towards curbing the street crimes.
He was talking to the newly notified members of the CPLC, who along with the CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy and other office bearers who called on him at the governor House here on Friday.
Dr. Ishrat further said that the CPLC has played an exemplary role in controlling the incidents of kidnapping for ransom.
He said that the common man is affected because of the street crimes and that the CPLC should come to the fore in this regard in collaboration with the law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
He asked those associated with the CPLC that with the database, available technology and surveys regarding crimes, they should play a role towards elimination of street crimes.
The Governor was of the view that it is necessary to immediately control the mobile and purse snatching.
He asked the CPLC members to enhance their social welfare activities and venture into academic fields also and be active in adopting government schools.
CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy introduced the newly notified members of the CPLC and also shed light on the activities of this body.
He also felicitated Dr. Ishrat on completion of nine years of governorship and said that Dr. Ishrat has served the people of the
province with devotion and commitment. (APP)
