QUETTA: A spokesman for the Frontier Corps Balochistan has confirmed that their 14 personnel including two junior commissioned officers had been martyred in an attack in Buleda, a sub-division of Ketch district last night.
According to a handout issued by FC Quetta Headquarters here on Thursday evening, unknown men had planted landmines near Kalag area of Buleda sub-division. An FC bomb disposal team was busy in defusing these landmines when armed men hiding in mountains opened fire martyring 14 FC personnel including two junior commissioned officers. Two vehicles were damaged, the spokesman said.
He added that law enforcement personnel and police reached the site soon after the incident and launched search operation.
Inspector General FC Balochistan Maj Gen Ubaidullah Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over killing of the FC personnel. He pledged that all out sacrifices would be rendered for securing peace in Balochistan and for solidarity of the country. He added that killers of FC personnel would be brought to justice soon.
