KARACHI: Government schools in Sindh have been in dire straits for years. Students are forced to study without basic provisions. Even under such circumstances the Sindh Government failed to utilise Rs. 3.2 billion allocated under the ‘School Specific Budget’ in the financial year 2014-2015.

The funds allocated for the ‘School Specific Budget’ were to be used to procure stationary, laboratory equipment and setting up a library and purchasing books.

The Sindh Education Minister, Nisar Khuhro has written a letter seeking an explanation from the relevant departments and officials as to why the school specific budget was not utilized, even after numerous verbal directives for its utilization were issued.
