KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday claimed to have arrested a terrorist associated with Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing - commonly known as RAW - from Mubarik Village area of Karachi.

According to Incharge CTD Ali Raza, a diary recovered from the possession of arrested terrorist had several Indian phone numbers.

"The terrorist was in contact with RAW and carried out attacks on its orders", claims the official.

He said the accused has also confessed to carry out bomb attacks in Sindh's second largest city, Hyderabad.

The CTD official further disclosed that the alleged terrorist was also a key accused in Zamzama street blast.

"A bomb, weighing 15 kilograms was also recovered from him", Raza said.

It may be noted here that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, during his visit to Quetta about a couple of months back, had warned foreign governments and agencies against their involvement in the terror activities in the country.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry a few weeks ago had also said that RAW was involved in creating unrest in Pakistan.

The Sindh CM, Qaim Ali Shah, was another politician who said the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) had evidence that RAW is behind the terrorist activities in Karachi.

A senior official of Karachi police, Rao Anwar had also claimed arresting two 'RAW-affiliated men' who, he said, belonged to a key political party of Karachi.

He had disclosed that both the accused identified as Tahir alias Lamba and Mama Junaid were sent to India for training.

SSP Malir Anwar was suspended from his post by the provincial government for acting beyond his authority before being reinstated on his previous post last month.
