PESHAWAR: Thick layers of fog disrupted both air and vehicular traffic in provincial metropolis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday morning as visibility remained very poor.

Arrival and departure of flights from Peshawar International Airport remained suspended till 1200 hours of the day.

According to an official at the airport since morning no arrival or departure of flights were being carried in the facility. The Met Office had given invisibility warning till 1200 hours of Monday.

The official said that after 1200 hours there were chances of the assuming of the flights from the airport.

Meanwhile, Peshawar-Swabi section of Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway also remained closed for vehicular traffic. According to a spokesman of Motorway Police, visibility on Peshawar-Swabi section of the Motorway was zero. However, the Met Office had given a forecast of invisibility till 10:00 A.M.

Due to the closure of Motorway Police, vehicular traffic on Peshawar-Swabi Section of the road returned from the toll plaza for using G.T. Road or alternative routes to reach their destinations. Similarly, the areas inside the city wall, Kohat Road and other surrounding areas also remained in grip of thick fog.
