KARACHI: Sindh Police have decided to speed up the installation of trackers in all vehicles meant for operational duties to ensure monitoring of police performance and accountability.

This was decided at meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Syed Muhstaq Ahmed Shah at Central Police Office. The meeting was attended among others by DIGP Headquarters, DIGP Finance Director of Information Technology, CPO, Tabasum Abid, AIGP Operation Sindh, AIGP Logistic, CPO and SP Muhafiz Force.

Director IT informed the participants that tracker installation was one of the components of e-policing project and installation could be carried out in phases to implement the decision in letter and spirit.

She also briefed the chair about the progress of overall e-policing project. She disclosed about new initiatives planned under e-policing project including installation of 200 video cameras network for Traffic regulation in the city, establishment of FM radio Station and functioning of centralized call Centre for police Helpline on Modern technical lines.

SP Muhafiz Force briefed the meeting about the bottlenecks confronting smooth functioning of various Madadgar-15 in the city. IGP Sindh directed DIGP Headquarters and AIGP Logistics to ensure on-ground functioning of Madedgar-15 centers removing all possible hurdles on war footing.

It is pertinent to point out that fifteen Madadgar 15 Centers are being rehabilitated at available sites in various locations of city including PS Nazimabad, Hyderi Market, North Karachi Industrial Area, Aaysha Manzil, SITE, PP Lalazar, PP sea View, PS Defence, Lyari, Saddar, Brookes Chowrangi, Allah Wali Chowrangi Tariq Road, Gulistan-e-Jouhar, Gul Ahmed Textile Mill and Gadap.
